9 Jun 2010 - St. Thomas (USVI)

Charlotte Amalie

Walk pass the Government House with its symbol on top

St. Thomas is famous of its tax-free shopping.  There are many famous brands with shop open here.  We stopped by Tiffini for a look.  As I was starved, had little interest on the goods

It took us little time to locate the recommended place to dine - Cafe Amici, serving Italian / Caribbean food

We stopped for lunch in Riise's Alley with its building of old stone and its cascading tropical plants

We ordered Today's Special - Papaya Paradise and I got drunk!

Our meal - best pizza in town

Iced wedge salad

View at the end of the alley, like a warehouse

Taxi at USVI - fare is counted per person base, and all the taxis offered at least 8 seats per vehicle.

This is a famous shop selling tailor-made sandals, costing around $180 per pair.  We chose beautiful hand-made glass bead pendant instead

Different car plates

When buying fruit juice, we found the waitress dressing in traditional style and ask for taking photo with her.  She told us that the dress was made by herself.

All the shops closed very early, sharply at 6:00pm.  We could only walk along the coast to Frenchtown to look for fine place to dine.  There we found a French Museum

We looked for Craig & Sally's but in vein.  With disappointment and just wanted to turn back, a lady stopped her car beside us and offered help.  We told her that we were looking for a fine place to dine.  She pointed out and our eye followed and saw the sign of Craig & Sally's.

Carrie order tapas plate and I ordered soft shelled crab.  A little surprise to find it in charcoal black.  In contrast, yummy yummy!

Back to Blackbeard's Castle and saw a gorgeous night view
