1 Feb 2013 Singapore

Lunch

After the school visit, we took the MRT all the way to Kembangan.  At there we met Lan Chi and she brought us to Joo Chiat Road, to have pork soup lunch (新興瓦煲肉骨茶).

It was at the Eastern district.  There were many famous food shops but we rushed to our last shopping of dried meat.  The dried bacon was my most favoite atfter all.

NeWater

We then took a taxi ride to the far East to NeWater plant.  It was really big, and we joined a guided tour.

A hall full of special exhibits, quite inspiring and interesting.

We then entered into the pavilion demonstrating different parts for filtration.

Lots of tubes for filtration

Changi Chapel & Museum

It is just next to the only prison in Singapore, recording the history during the World War II.

My only picture with Lan Chi, in front of the chapel.

1 Feb 2013 Last Day Visit

Local Breakfast

As it was our last day in Singapore, we grabbed the chance to taste local food.  We went to the food stall at the opposite side to our hotel.

I picked a durian pancake and a local coffee (served with condensed milk)

Outlook of our hotel

Street view

Roger led us to walk the other way to Lavendar station, such that we did not need to have change of MRT lines.  In our way, there were many eye-catching spots.

"Do you need a miracle?"

Visit to Fu Hwa Primary School

The environment was nice

We were led to a P6 classroom.  They were taking oral English lesson.  Each of them typed what they wanted to express the observation of the picture.  The teacher picked up good work as demonstration to the others.  As such, it was a non-speaking "oral" lesson.

Two carts provided wi-fi connection from the notebooks.

There was also day-care centre in school.

Very impressive that they had a studio in school for students to learn filming.

Some student work done with computer software

31 Jan 2013 evening

Suntec City

Departed from Canberra Secondary School at around 4:45pm, we took taxis to Suntec City.  On the way, I passed through Orchard Road and some tourist spots, big malls etc.  But I have no mood to enjoy as I had made the appointment at 5:00pm and we were late.  Upon arrival, I called Mr. Ibrahim to come and fetch us.  The office is located at the penhouse!

The demonstration was good and impressive.  We were also Fully satisfied with the snacks served (Chilli pie).  Before we left, Mr. Ibrahim shown us around at the new office, with view to the Indonisian side, the Singapore Flyer, etc.

As we would fly back Hong Kong the following day, we took the time to the China Town.  Lan Chi told us not to take MRT at Promenade but rather walk to Esplanade to save time to the China Town stop.

China Town was crowded with people as it was near the Chinese New Year.

Latterns were hanging all around and the decoration was more typical Chinese than in Hong Kong.

Heritage Museum at the upper floor

Beautiful paper work on display

There was a large food stall on the other side too.

Really funny to find an Indian temple in the middle of the district

There were many pomelo for sale and at good price.

and my favorite durian from Malaysia

Typical coloniel style buildings along the street.

A long snake crawls along the street for the Year of the Snake

The snake shows a smiling face

Another main street with bright lattern wall

Lastely, we located the dried meat shop but hot stuff were already sold out.  We still made our effort to spend money on the remaining ones.
