12 Jan 2010 Hobart + Melbourne

My way back

Last shot of the hostel - Montgomery Hostel, with Thrifty at next shop.  It is very convenient to park outside the hostel and return our car.

After collecting my lugguge at hostel, I had sufficient time to walk to the airporter stop, waiting for the van.

Tiger Airways, offered the cheapest flight to Melbourne.  In that evening, it was really windy. With my thin clothes, I got chilled when walking up the stairs

Last sun set I could have captured - a very good ending of my trip in Tasmania

Wildlife Show

Different tribes of seals

At last, we met the dolphins.  They swam very fast and it's very difficult to capture their portraits.  Some posted here to share

They have light brownish belly

The dolphins were very curious about us and liked to swim along with the boat

After the cruise, we went back to Adventure Bay, to have a nice lunch

After lunch, we were ready to go.  At the far side, the rain was coming

As our vehicles were queuing at the harbour side, the guide led us to buy cherries, the premium brand (with the cherry just a little smaller than a golf ball) at A$16 per kilograms, still cheaper than in HK.

Blue sky appeared behind the clouds.

Last day in Tasmania

Clara would fly to Sydney and Livia would fly back home at Canberra at noon.  My flight was scheduled at 21:00 that I had a free day.  I took this opportunity to join the Bruny Island cruise at A$148.5 (enjoyed 10% discount with YHA membership).

My lugguge had been deposited at the hostel the night before, I needed to get up early in the morning.  We have to gather at the Visitor Centre near the waterfront at 8:00.

The tour guide brought his grand child with him.  The kid helped to count the heads.  From the waterfront, we headed to Salamanca, Arthur Circuit (a narrow circular street), Battery Point, and headed to Kingston.  At there, I was introduced the oldest train in Tasmania. We then reached  the harbour.  Along the way, our van stopped by a few grocery shops and picked up local fresh produce, like fruits and vegetables and other provisions, for preparing our lunch.

All the cars and 3 of our tour vans queued along the road ready to board on this ship.

It was not a sunny day but  it reached 36 the day before.  When I applied for the tour, the agency clerk persuaded me to join the cruise the day before as it should be nice to go for a cruise on a sunny and hot day.  A girl staying in the same room joined that tour but she was disappointed as there were not many wildlife seen.

There are many cars queuing at the road, waiting for our ship to park.

After landed on Bruny Island, we followed the Bruny Island Main Road to the Adventure Bay.  We gathered and had our light breakfast there.  Follow the beach side, we walked towards the speedboats.

This is a very nice apartment enjoying the beach view.

We queued and ready to board on the speed boats.

Special landscape of Bruny Island

Each of us was allocated a red raincoat

Sea weed growing along the coast

Many sea gulls resting on the rocks

Breathing hole - we were all splashed when our boat approached the breathing hole

There are many different kinds of sea birds

Dine at WaterFront

We revisited Mures for another seafood dinner.  I like the interior design on the lower deck

Grilled Pacific Blue Eye fillet with ginger and lemon source + vegetable salad and chips

We went for another walk along the waterfront as this was the last night before we departed tomorrow.

High-speed catamaran, Peppermint Bay II for Peppermint Bay cruise

We're surprised that the pool became a soap bubble pool and a few children enjoyed their spoil here.
