Many passer-by argued whether it's a pig or dog in front of a christmas tree.

It's summer time and there are many beautiful plants like lavender

There are penguins in Melbourne Aquarium but I had no time to see them.

I really appreciate Melbourne setting up a free Tourist Tram Ride running in circle around the CBD. You can just hop up and down at special points you interest.

It is a metropolitan city but with different kinds of buildings, in both old and modern fashion.

Melbourne - New Year Day
I took the morning flight and watched many films on the plane. The one I like most was "Julie and Julia" acted by Meryl Streep.
It's planned that I could appreciate the sunset view on the high sky. However, when I came to my notice, the sun had already set.

I hoped to arrive in time for the firework show in Melbourne. However, the weather was not so good that my plane needed to swirl for 30 minutes before landing. There were lots of lightings in patches as I looked through the window.
Even though, I managed to arrive at Melbourne YHA at 11:45. Livia and Clara stayed at room but I urged them to go up to the roof top for a check. (However, I did not bring up with me my camera in fear of the wet weather.) There were shoots at the rooftop nearby that it was really amazing. Everybody yelled "Happy New Year!" The scale there could not compare to that in HK but it was a good start for the year 2010.
After a good sleep, Livia and I went for a walk along the Yarra banks. The weather was still dark and misty.
Not many people on the streets but some of them were drunk.
Melbourne + Tasmania Trip Introduction
It's a very special trip :
- this is the first time that the trip was not planned by me. Thanks Livia for her good job;
- all three of us, flew from different parts of the world, joined together to spent 2 weeks together;
- it's aggresively planned to cover nearly every part of Tasmania but we could complete all the routes;
- before I started the trip, different sources recommended the destination with details :
1. Sunflower Travel Agency promoted a Tasmania trip cost $38,888 for 6 days as "Luxury Gourmet Tour to Tasmania". I spent less than half but covered more, ha ha!
2. Eat and Travel Weekly on its 4.12.2009 issue covered a topic on Tasmania, featured an oyster farm that I would have visited.
I've red-circled the places that we have visited. There are 10 big circles!
