It started up with a bright new morning. We departed at 7:30 a.m. with our luggage and packed breakfast.
The flowers (apricot) glow in the sunlight
It is a long drive along A-353 and passed the other side of the White and Red Mountains. It could lead to the border control (Қорғас) to China. Along the way, there are many monuments on hilltops, like eagle, hunter with eagle, warrior, etc.
Then we switched to R-21 and crossed Ile River
At around 10:00 a.m. we reached Chundzha.
Kazakhstan is a land that is rich not only with natural wonders of extraordinary beauty, but also with fountains of health and youth. The hot radon springs in Chundzha are especially popular among the Kazakhs and guests of the republic.
The water in the springs of Chundzha is heated up to 37-50 degrees Celsius due to volcanic activity. It contains radon, which in small amounts is able to have a therapeutic effect on the human body.
Water from Chundzha sources, which is rich in a huge amount of mineral substances, has a beneficial effect on the state of people who are struggling with:
- skin diseases (psoriasis, neurodermatitis, dermatitis and others);
- diseases of the digestive system (pancreatitis, hepatitis, cholecystitis);
- cardiovascular disorder consequences (heart attack, blood stroke, hypotension);
- depression;
- diseases of the reproductive system.
In the territory where the healing springs are located, numerous health resorts offer various health-promoting activities – from radon baths to drinking mineral waters.
At there, a gentleman led us to his house and serve us home-made brunch.
As told, he was retired from the army and belongs to a minority group.
There were fresh cucumber + tomato + spring onion as salad, bread, noodle in meat soup, milk tea served in bowl for our lunch. Quite interesting and the food is of familiar taste to us. He said that we could be served dumplings with Chives (韭菜) next time, they called it "shiuzai". I told them we had it at home as well.
The owner showed us around to see his apricot trees in the backyard. Flowers had already fallen and there were small fruit borne and he picked one to show me. I forgot to take picture of the fruit but of the big black dog held under the tree. It is friendly and meek
After waving goodbye, we went on our way to the canyons. It's found a gate (shaped like a yurt) at the entrance to every village.
Interesting landscape along the way
A cemetery outside a town
There is a place Vlad mentioned about green in colour as with the mineral copper.
Barren and empty space
