Bosa 4.5.2011

Bosa

After arriving at Oristano, I took my time to visit Bosa.  It was really nice to travel on bus, but very noisy with many school students.

Bosa, founded by the Carthaginians, the Romans also settled here and in the 12th century was ruled by the noble Malaspina Family. The Malaspina were descendants of of the Oberenghi who fought with the republics of Genoa and Pisa to liberate Sardinia from the Arabs. In the 16thCentury, the port of Bosa became blocked by a sand bank and the little town went into decline, but again made a recovery when the coral industry was encouraged by the Savoia Kings

Overview of Bosa

The town is full of colorful houses

The Bosa river Fiume Temo flows along the town and becomes her characteristics

All the photographers like to take photos along the river

And I walked all the way up to the castle, Castello Malaspina.

However, it was my greatest mistake of not boarding on the last bus to Macomer and got change to Oristano by train.  Finally, I needed to pay the night at Bosa unprepared.  On the television, I watched the grand procession back to Cagliari.  Further, I watched a very exciting  volley ball game between two Italian clubs.

I forgot the name of the hotel I stayed.  It seemed like this one - Corte Fiorita.  I wanted to have a nice river view when open the window.

The next morning, I took the breakfast in 15 minutes and hurried up to catch the first bus back to Oristano.  I was really anxious when I found nobody at the counter when I wanted to check out.  The staff finally appeared in 10 minutes!  But when he knew that I was in a hurry, he offered to drive me to the bus stop.  At last, I made to board on the bus.  When I got back to my B&B, the owner was waiting for me.  He was worried why I did not get back that night.  Sorry that I did not phone him when finding myself stuck at Bosa.
