This trip was planned in early July when Finnair launched her promotion programme.
With the direct flight to Helsinki return ticket confirmed, I started to define the detailed itinerary. Actually, I have visited Scandinavia 20+ years ago in an organized tour. Finland was visited in brief stops. This time, I'd like to explore more about this country. Estonia is also in my bucket as it is a pioneer in Smart City Development. Boat trips across the Baltic Sea will be included and Stockholm is then added as a stop.
High living standard and expense in Scandinavia scares me. To save a bit, I'll stay in hostels, take public transport, economic night ferries, even cook myself food. Finally, I spent a little less than $18,000 (excluding souvenir & shopping) in this 13-full day tour.
It's quite ambitious to take a night flight after work, back on a morning flight and go working afterward. However, it'll help recover me from jet lag which is serious at my age.
