La Catedral de Mallorca es el principal edificio religioso de la isla de Mallorca. En mallorquín, se la conoce como La Seu (Seu o Seo es el nombre que reciben las catedrales en la Corona de Aragón). Consiste en un templo de estilo gótico levantino construido a la orilla de la bahía de Palma. Se asoma al mar sobre las murallas romana y renacentistas que protegían a la ciudad, siendo la única catedral gótica que cumple con esta peculiaridad. Consiste también en la sede de la diócesis de Mallorca, su titular es la asunción de María. En 1931 fue declarada Monumento Histórico-artístico. Además, se trata de la catedral con el mayor rosetón del mundo gótico (del gótico original, existen catedrales con rosetones de mayores dimensiones pero pertenecen al neogótico) y una de las que tiene una nave de mayor altura entre las catedrales de estilo gótico europeas.
The Cathedral of Mallorca is the main religious building of the island of Mallorca. In Mallorcan, it is known as La Seu (Seu or Seo is the name given to cathedrals in the Crown of Aragon). It consists of a Gothic church built in the Levantine shores of the bay of Palma. Overlooking the sea on the Roman and Renaissance walls that protected the city, the only Gothic cathedral to comply with this peculiarity. It also consists of the headquarters of the diocese of Mallorca, the owner is the assumption of Mary. In 1931 it was declared a Historic Artistic Monument. In addition, the cathedral has the largest Gothic rose window of the world (the original gothic, other existing cathedrals with larger rose windows but belong to the neo-Gothic) and has the tallest ship among the Gothic cathedrals of Europe.
